Welcome to SFIS Koha!

Welcome to the SFIS LMC for the 2014-2015 school year. The library staff, Sandra Eichwald, Jeanne Gonzales, and Brian Valinski, plus all the student library aides, are here to help you. Let's all work together to make this a successful and enjoyable year. The LMC has many new books, new A-V equipment, and ten new subscription databases to interest you. Look under Most Recent--Books below to browse for new books. Another place to browse is the New Book Shelf in the library. On the left side of the page, under "Search our online subscriptions" are links to all the databases.

Library Policy:

Students without overdues may check out up to four books at a time, each for 14 days, with one renewal. Students may also check out videos, one at a time, for 24 hours. Audio-visual equipment, such as cameras and audio-recorders, may be checked out for 24 hours, as well. For 24-hour materials and equipment, a dollar-a-day late fee will be assessed if the items are not returned on time.

Individual students may use the LMC computer lab from 8:00 to 8:45 am, at lunch, and during evening study hours to check email and do other work within the guidelines of the Internet Use Contract.

The use of the LMC printer and Xerox machine is free for classwork, with the exception of coloring printing. Color printing is .10 a page. See Jeanne or Sandra to purchase a 12-print punch ticket for a dollar. Teachers, if you are assigning students projects that demand many color pages, please discuss this with the LMC staff in advance.

The LMC has 12 video cameras that can be checked out by students for 24 hours only. Teachers, if you plan for students to use video cameras for a graded assignment, please make arrangements with Brian Valinski in advance to assure equitable access to these limited resources.

Please, no food, drink, hats, or public displays of affection in the LMC. Library materials are for check out by SFIS students and staff only. We do not check out materials to the general public.
